'Hochzeit' is broader: it often means the whole day, the celebration, the guests, and the ceremony together. The words can be confused because the 'Trauung' is part of the 'Hochzeit'. If you mean only the official moment, 'Trauung' is more precise. If you are talking about the whole celebration, 'Hochzeit' fits better.
