'Schrank' and 'Truhe' are both pieces of furniture in which you can store things. The most important difference is the shape and how you open them. A 'Schrank' is usually upright and has doors at the front, for example for clothes or dishes. A 'Truhe' is more box-shaped and often has a lid on top that you lift open. The words can be confused because both provide storage space. If you open something with a door, you usually say 'Schrank'; if you lift up a lid, 'Truhe' fits better.
