'Wegziehen' is a separable verb. The prefix 'weg-' comes at the end in a main clause. In subordinate clauses and in the infinitive with 'zu', the verb stays together.

The perfect tense is formed with 'sein' (to be) when it is about movement from one place to another (moving house, weather). It is formed with 'haben' (to have) when an object is pulled away.

My parents moved away to the countryside ten years ago.
You can recognize the meaning from the subject and object: if a person is moving house, that person is the subject. If something physical is being removed, there is an accusative object. If the weather is changing, the subject is a weather phenomenon such as 'Wolken' (clouds) or 'Gewitter' (thunderstorm).

'ziehen' and 'wegziehen' can both mean that someone changes where they live. 'ziehen' is more general and often needs a direction or destination: you move to Berlin or into a new apartment. 'wegziehen' puts more emphasis on leaving the old place. Learners may confuse the words because both fit when talking about moving house. As a simple guide: if the new destination is important, 'ziehen' works well. If leaving the previous place is important, 'wegziehen' sounds more natural.
