'Weinberg-' and 'der Weingarten' both refer to a place where grapevines grow. The important difference is in how they are used. 'Weingarten' is a normal noun and refers to the piece of land itself. 'Weinberg-' is used here mainly as the first part of compound words, for example in 'Weinbergmauer' (vineyard wall) or 'Weinbergweg' (vineyard path). Learners may confuse the words because both have to do with growing wine grapes. If you mean the place itself, 'Weingarten' is appropriate. If you are forming a compound word, you often use 'Weinberg-'.
