'der Anhänger' and 'der Wohnwagen' can both mean a vehicle that is pulled by a car. However, an 'Anhänger' is the general term for a towed vehicle without its own engine, often used for furniture, equipment, or other loads. A 'Wohnwagen' is a special kind of trailer in which you can live or sleep while traveling. The words can be confused because every 'Wohnwagen' is technically an 'Anhänger'. But not every 'Anhänger' is a 'Wohnwagen'. When it is about transport, people usually say 'Anhänger'. When it is about camping and accommodation, 'Wohnwagen' is more precise.
