A 'Wohnmobil' (motorhome/RV) is a vehicle for travel. It is not the same as the English 'mobile home', which describes a stationary prefabricated home. Such a house is called 'Mobilheim' in German.

Pay attention to the difference in prepositions: You travel 'mit dem Wohnmobil' (by/in the motorhome), but you sleep, eat, or live 'im Wohnmobil' (in the motorhome).

Both a “Wohnwagen” and a “Wohnmobil” provide accommodation for travel and camping. However, a “Wohnwagen” is a trailer and must be towed by a car. A “Wohnmobil” has its own engine and is driven by itself.
