Word structure
This adjective is made up of the ordinal number 'zweit-' (second) and the superlative 'größt-' (largest). This pattern is very productive and can be used for any kind of ranking, e.g. 'drittgrößte' (third-largest), 'viertwichtigste' (fourth-most important), 'fünftbeste' (fifth-best).

Sentence structure
