'Abgewöhnen' (to break someone of a habit) is separable: In a simple main clause, 'ab' (off) goes at the end of the sentence, while in a subordinate clause it stays connected to the verb. With the infinitive marker 'zu' (to), 'zu' goes between 'ab' and 'gewöhnen'.
Ich gewöhne mir gerade das Nägelkauen ab.
I am currently breaking myself of the habit of biting my nails.
Sie ist stolz, weil sie sich das Nägelkauen abgewöhnt.
She is proud because she is breaking herself of the habit of biting her nails.
Er versucht, sich das Nägelkauen abzugewöhnen.
He is trying to break himself of the habit of biting his nails.
The person takes the dative, and the habit takes the accusative: 'jemandem etwas abgewöhnen' (to break someone of a habit). For your own habit, you therefore need 'mir' (myself) or 'dir' (yourself), not 'mich' (me) or 'dich' (you).
Ich möchte mir diesen Tick abgewöhnen.
I would like to break myself of this quirk.
Ich möchte meinem Sohn diesen Tick abgewöhnen.
I would like to break my son of this quirk.
You can also describe your own habit with an infinitive phrase using 'zu' (to). The pattern is 'sich abgewöhnen, etwas zu tun' (to break oneself of the habit of doing something); the infinitive phrase names the behavior one wants to give up.
Ich habe mir abgewöhnt, beim Essen auf mein Handy zu schauen.
I have broken myself of the habit of looking at my phone while eating.
