Describes a goal, state, or result that someone is trying to achieve.

“Angestrebt” (intended/sought) is the past participle of the verb “anstreben” (to strive for). This verb consists of the prefix “an-” and “streben” (to strive) and means to strive toward a goal.
Wir streben eine langfristige Zusammenarbeit an.
We are striving for a long-term collaboration.
This word is almost always used as an adjective directly before a noun and must be declined accordingly. Predicative use, e.g. “Das Ziel ist angestrebt.” (The goal is intended.), is very unusual.

“Angestrebt” (intended) is frequently combined with nouns that describe a goal or desired result. Typical phrases are “das angestrebte Ziel” (the intended goal), “das angestrebte Ergebnis” (the intended result), “der angestrebte Abschluss” (the intended degree/completion), or “die angestrebte Lösung” (the intended solution).

'geplant' and 'angestrebt' can both point to the future. 'geplant' means that something has already been deliberately prepared or firmly scheduled. 'angestrebt' means that someone wants to achieve a goal, but the path or the result is not yet certain. The words can be confused because plans often also have goals. Still, the focus is different: 'geplant' fits concrete plans, appointments, or actions. 'angestrebt' fits more with goals, results, or states that someone wants to achieve.
