Capitalization
The adjective 'arabisch' (Arab/Arabic) is written in lowercase in German. But when it refers to the name of the language, it is treated as a noun and capitalized, for example 'Ich lerne Arabisch' (I am learning Arabic) or 'auf Arabisch' (in Arabic).
EXAMPLE
Viele arabische Länder sind reich an Geschichte.
Many Arab countries are rich in history.
Use for language
To express that something happens in the language, you use the fixed phrase 'auf Arabisch' (in Arabic). When describing the ability, you say 'arabisch sprechen/verstehen' (to speak/understand Arabic).

'arabisch' and 'islamisch' are sometimes confused because there are many Muslims in some countries of the Arab world. But they do not mean the same thing. 'arabisch' refers to the Arabic language, to Arab culture, or to the Arab world. 'islamisch' refers to Islam as a religion and to things connected with it. Not all Arab people are Muslim, and many Muslim people are not Arab. For language and origin, 'arabisch' fits; for religion, 'islamisch' fits.
