Balance vs stabil

stable

'stabil' and 'die Balance' can both have to do with a state that does not lose its balance. 'stabil' is the normal word for something that is secure, steady, or not easily disturbed. It fits situations, systems, feelings, and also objects. 'die Balance' is used adjectivally here very rarely and means more that someone is internally or externally in balance. In normal German, people usually say 'in Balance' (in balance) or 'ausgeglichen' (balanced). That is why 'stabil' is much more natural when describing a secure state in general.
