Dogma vs Meinung
opinion
'die Meinung' and 'das Dogma' both have to do with a view or belief. An opinion is personal, however, and can change. You can discuss it or adjust it based on new information. A dogma is much more fixed: it is considered absolutely true and often is not meant to be questioned, especially in religion, ideology, or very rigid views. The words can be confused when someone defends their opinion very strongly. Even so, not every strong opinion is a dogma. 'Dogma' only fits when something is treated as a fixed truth and criticism is hardly allowed.
Dogma
In der Diskussion wirkte seine Ansicht fast wie ein Dogma, weil er keine Fragen zuließ.
In the discussion, his view seemed almost like a dogma because he allowed no questions.
