Introduces one of two or more possibilities and indicates that only one of them will be chosen or happen.
Entweder fahren wir heute ans Meer, oder wir bleiben zu Hause.
Either we’re going to the seaside today, or we’re staying at home.
'Entweder' (either) normally appears together with 'oder' (or) and introduces the first part of a choice. The two parts can connect complete sentences, sentence elements, or individual words.
Entweder kochen wir heute selbst, oder wir bestellen etwas.
Either we’ll cook for ourselves today, or we’ll order something.
Wir treffen uns entweder am Montag oder am Dienstag.
We’ll meet either on Monday or on Tuesday.
When 'entweder' (either) appears at the beginning of a main clause, the finite verb can follow directly after it. When 'entweder' (either) stands outside the sentence structure, the subject comes first, followed by the finite verb. In every additional main clause, the finite verb remains in second position.
Entweder fährt Anna mit dem Zug, oder ihr Bruder holt sie ab.
Either Anna is taking the train, or her brother is picking her up.

After 'entweder' (either) and 'oder' (or), the sentence parts should be as similar in form as possible, for example two nouns, two infinitives, or two complete sentences. When there are several possibilities, the series can continue with additional 'oder' (or) parts.
