Bundestag election
'die Bundestagswahl' and 'die Europawahl' are both major political elections, but they refer to different parliaments. In the Bundestag election, people in Germany elect the Bundestag. In the European election, EU citizens elect the members of the European Parliament. The words can be confused because both seem important beyond Germany and many parties are involved. Remember: Bundestagswahl means the German parliament; Europawahl means the European Parliament.
