Both words can refer to an impartial decision or treatment. „Gerechtigkeit“ places more emphasis on the morally right principle or outcome, while „Fairness“ focuses more on decent, rule-abiding behavior in dealing with others. Use Gerechtigkeit for the outcome and Fairness for the way the process is handled.
