Flucht vs Linie

line

'Linie' and 'Flucht' can both describe something straight. 'Linie' is the general word for a line or a straight form. In this sense, 'Flucht' is used mainly in architecture or construction, when several doors, windows, or walls lie exactly in a straight row. Learners may confuse the words because both have to do with a straight arrangement. But 'Flucht' is much more specific; outside of construction and architecture, 'Flucht' usually means running away from danger.
