'der Verband' and 'der Gibs' can both have to do with medical treatment after an injury. 'Verband' is general and means material that covers and protects a wound. 'Gibs' is an incorrect spelling of 'Gips'; what is usually meant here is a 'Gipsverband' (plaster cast), a hard shell that immobilizes a broken bone.
