Lowercase spelling
Unlike in English, adjectives derived from country names are written in lowercase in German, unless they are at the beginning of a sentence. So you write 'der jugoslawische Film' (the Yugoslav film), not 'der Jugoslawische Film'.

Serbian

'serbisch' refers to Serbia, its population, culture, or language. 'jugoslawisch' refers to the former country of Yugoslavia, which no longer exists today. The words can be confusing because Serbia used to be part of Yugoslavia. For present-day language or origin, 'serbisch' is often more precise; for older history or things from the time of Yugoslavia, 'jugoslawisch' fits.
