klarstellen vs erklären
to explain / declare
'erklären' and 'klarstellen' both have to do with making something understandable. 'erklären' is used generally when you make knowledge, a rule, or a function understandable to someone. 'klarstellen' is more appropriate when there is already a misunderstanding, a doubt, or a false statement in the room. Then you say something especially clearly so that there is no longer any incorrect interpretation. Learners may confuse the words because both have to do with understanding. As a guide: you explain something so that someone learns it; you clarify something so that no one misunderstands it.

Wir stellen im Team klar, dass der Termin nicht heute, sondern morgen ist.
