With „kurieren“ (to cure), either an illness or the person being treated can be the accusative object. The means of treatment is often introduced with „mit“ (with) and the dative.

She is trying to cure her cough with cough syrup.

The typical pattern is „jemanden von etwas kurieren“ (to cure someone of something): the person is in the accusative, and the unwanted attitude or habit after „von“ is in the dative. An unpleasant experience is often the subject.
Die verlorene Wette hat ihn von seiner Überheblichkeit kuriert.
Losing the bet cured him of his arrogance.
When the sick person is the subject, use „sich kurieren“ (to recover) with a reflexive pronoun in the accusative. Time expressions such as „ein paar Tage“ (a few days) or place expressions such as „zu Hause“ (at home) and „im Bett“ (in bed) often go with it.
Ich kuriere mich ein paar Tage zu Hause, bevor ich wieder arbeiten gehe.
I am going to recover at home for a few days before I go back to work.
