'Lebenswelt' focuses more strongly on how people experience and understand their everyday life themselves. The word sounds somewhat more technical and is especially suitable in texts about society, education, or research. If you are simply talking about a person's environment, 'Umwelt' is more natural. If the focus is on a group's experiences, habits, and perspectives, 'Lebenswelt' is more precise.
