A subfield of linguistics that deals with the structure, forms, and formation of words from smaller meaning-bearing units (morphemes).

The words can be confused because endings and forms often come up in grammar lessons. In everyday life and in language courses, people usually say 'Grammatik'. 'Morphologie' sounds more technical and is more suitable when talking specifically about the structure of words.
