Mütze vs fertig

finished / ready

'fertig' and 'die Mütze' can both express that someone is very tired or exhausted. 'fertig' is much more normal and fits many conversations. 'mütze' is very colloquial and is used only with 'sein' (to be), for example 'ich bin mütze' (I'm wiped out). So you do not say 'eine mütze Person'. Learners may confuse the words because both can describe the same state. If you want to speak naturally and be understood everywhere, 'fertig' is safer. 'mütze' is more suitable for casual conversations.
