Separable verb
'Nachprüfen' (to verify) is a separable verb made up of 'nach' and 'prüfen' (to check). In a main clause, 'nach' comes at the end of the sentence; in a subordinate clause, the verb remains together. With the infinitive marker 'zu', 'zu' comes between the prefix and the verb.
