The article changes with the case; it is shown in colour.
A common pattern is 'jemanden als Nazi bezeichnen' (to call someone a Nazi). The person being described is in the accusative case; after 'als', 'Nazi' appears without an article.
Sie bezeichnete ihren Nachbarn als Nazi, nachdem er offen Hitler gelobt hatte.
She called her neighbor a Nazi after he openly praised Hitler.
Common collocations are 'ein überzeugter Nazi' (a committed Nazi) and 'ein bekennender Nazi' (a self-professed Nazi). 'Überzeugt' (committed) emphasizes firmly held political beliefs, while 'bekennend' (self-professed) emphasizes openly declaring those beliefs.
Auch nach Kriegsende blieb er ein überzeugter Nazi.
Even after the war ended, he remained a committed Nazi.
Der bekennende Nazi verbreitete seine Ansichten öffentlich.
The self-professed Nazi spread his views publicly.
When used as an exaggerated accusation in a personal argument, 'Nazi' (Nazi) is highly insulting and can escalate the conflict. This usage can also trivialize the crimes of National Socialism.
Im Streit beschimpfte er die Trainerin als Nazi, weil sie keine Ausnahmen von den Trainingsregeln erlaubte.
During the argument, he insulted the coach by calling her a Nazi because she allowed no exceptions to the training rules.
