Präsenz vs Gegenwart

Gegenwart and Präsenz can both refer to a person’s presence. Gegenwart is especially common in the fixed expression „in jemandes Gegenwart“ (in someone’s presence). Präsenz can also mean physical presence, but it often additionally emphasizes that the person is clearly noticed or has a strong impact.
