'der Artikel' and 'die Reportage' both belong to journalism and provide information about a topic. An article can be very different in form: short or long, factual or explanatory. You can confuse the words because a reportage can also appear in a newspaper or on a website. 'Artikel' is the more general term; 'Reportage' fits when the text tells about a situation in a vivid, descriptive way.
