'der Respekt' and 'die Ehre' both have to do with respect and recognition. 'Respekt' more often describes an attitude or behavior toward others: you take someone seriously and treat them politely. 'Ehre' sounds stronger and more formal. It is often about a person's good reputation or a special distinction. Learners may confuse the words because both are positive and have to do with recognition. In everyday language, however, people usually say 'Respekt vor jemandem' (respect for someone). 'Ehre' fits better with reputation, dignity, special moments, or phrases like 'zu Ehren von' (in honor of).
