Der Sale and der Ausverkauf both refer to selling goods at reduced prices. A Sale can simply be a limited period of discounts; der Ausverkauf additionally emphasizes that the remaining stock is to be cleared quickly. Sale is suitable for a normal seasonal promotion, while Ausverkauf is more appropriate when stock is being heavily cleared.
Im Sommer-Sale sind viele Jacken für zwei Wochen günstiger.
