'Simulation' is more general and can mean in different situations that someone is only pretending to do or feel something. 'Schwalbe' is much more specific: in soccer, a player deliberately falls down in order to fake a foul. Learners may confuse the words because both have to do with deception. In soccer, however, people usually say 'Schwalbe', while 'Simulation' sounds more general and more formal.
