'Spin' is used mainly in politics, the media, or public relations when a presentation is deliberately steered in a particular direction. 'Spin' often sounds as if someone wants to influence people’s opinions or make something look better. The words can be confused because both refer to the presentation of an event. However, 'Spin' is more specific and usually not completely neutral.
