'der Anschlag' and 'der Terrorismus' can appear in the same news context, but they are not the same thing. An 'Anschlag' is a single act, meaning a specific attack. 'Terrorismus' refers to a whole type of violence or strategy used to frighten people and achieve political, religious, or ideological goals. The words can be confused because an attack can be terrorist in nature. But you do not say that terrorism is a single event. For the individual act, 'Anschlag' fits; for the larger phenomenon, 'Terrorismus' fits.
