To attribute a particular, usually negative, intention, opinion, or characteristic to someone, often without having evidence for it.

to take shelter
To place something or oneself under a roof or overhang for protection from rain or sun.

To place a person or organizational unit under the leadership or command of another person or unit.

This verb has two forms: it is inseparable when it means 'jemandem etwas vorwerfen' (to accuse someone of something) or 'unterordnen' (to subordinate) (stress on '-stellen'). It is separable when it means 'Schutz suchen' (to seek shelter) (stress on 'unter-').

to hire / adjust / stop
Both verbs can mean protecting a vehicle from bad weather. Einstellen is used especially when putting it in an enclosed space, while unterstellen usually emphasizes a shelter, roof, or overhang. So Einstellen is suitable for a garage, while unterstellen is often suitable for a porch roof.
Wir unterstellen die Fahrräder über Nacht unter dem Vordach.
