The verb 'verheimlichen' (to conceal) is inseparable. The prefix 'ver-' remains firmly attached to the stem 'heimlich' in all sentence forms and cannot stand at the end of the sentence.

This verb is often used with two objects: the person from whom something is being kept secret is in the dative, and the secret information is in the accusative. Alternatively, the person can also be added with 'vor + dative' (from/in front of + dative).

With 'verbreiten', something is meant to become known; with 'verheimlichen', it is specifically meant not to become known.
