'Verlockend' (tempting) is the present participle of the verb 'verlocken' (to tempt / entice). The verb 'locken' means to attract or lure someone, and the prefix 'ver-' strengthens this idea. So something that is 'verlockend' has the quality of strongly attracting someone.

Both words describe something attractive that arouses interest. Verlockend, however, places more emphasis on a temptation that is difficult to resist, while reizvoll highlights an appealing or interesting charm. Use verlockend for a specific temptation and reizvoll for an appealing quality.
