'Anvertrauen' is a separable verb. The prefix 'an-' goes at the end in a main clause. In subordinate clauses and in the infinitive with 'zu', the verb stays together.

Here, übergeben describes neutrally or formally passing responsibility for a person or thing to someone else. Anvertrauen additionally emphasizes trust that the other person will take good care of them or it. Use übergeben for a simple handover; use anvertrauen when caring for the person or thing is expected.
Am Eingang vertraute die Mutter ihr Kind der erfahrenen Betreuerin an, weil sie ihr vertraute.
