In building projects, the architect mainly plans the building as a whole: its shape, rooms, use, and often also its design. The engineer focuses more on the technical side, for example stability, construction, machines, or technical systems. The words can be confused because both can work on structures. Put simply: the architect is more likely to design the building, while the engineer is more likely to check or develop the technical solution.
