Word family
“Der Auszug” is the noun form of the separable verb “ausziehen” (to move out). The meaning “to leave an apartment” comes directly from this verb.
EXAMPLE
Wir ziehen nächsten Monat aus; der Auszug wird am ersten Samstag sein.
We're moving out next month; the move-out will be on the first Saturday.
Context clues
You can recognize the meaning of “Auszug” from the context. If it is about an “Wohnung” (apartment), it means leaving. If it is about a “Buch” (book) or a “Text” (text), it means a section. In the context of “Bank” (bank) or “Konto” (account), it means a bank statement.
