'Blanc' is a loanword from French and means 'white'. In German, however, it is not used generally for the color white, but only in special contexts such as wine or card games.
EXAMPLE
Für eine weiße Wand würde man nie „eine blance Wand“ sagen.
For a white wall, you would never say 'eine blance Wand' (a blanc wall).
No declension
The adjective 'blanc' is invariable in German. It is never declined and does not take endings, even when it comes before a noun.

Context clue

'frei' and 'blanc' can both express that something specific is not present. 'frei von' is used generally, for example with foods, rooms, or burdens.
