'Einschätzen' (to assess / estimate) is a separable verb. In a main clause, the prefix 'ein-' moves to the end of the sentence. In subordinate clauses, it remains attached to the verb.

'Einschätzen' (to assess / estimate) is very often followed by a subordinate clause that begins with a question word (wie, was, ob). This subordinate clause specifies exactly what is being assessed.

The verb 'einschätzen' (to assess / estimate) is often combined with adverbs that describe the quality of the assessment. Typical phrases are 'richtig/falsch einschätzen' (to assess correctly/incorrectly) or 'gut/schlecht einschätzen' (to assess well/poorly).

Schätzen and einschätzen can both be based on an approximate assessment. When referring to a size or amount, schätzen usually aims at an approximate number. Einschätzen focuses more on evaluating a person or thing, but it can also be used to determine a value approximately.
Nach der Besichtigung schätzt die Maklerin den Zustand der Wohnung als gut ein.
After viewing the apartment, the real estate agent assesses its condition as good.
