'Geübt' (practiced/experienced) is the past participle of the verb 'üben' (to practice). So someone who is 'geübt' has practiced a lot. The word is also closely related to the noun 'die Übung' (practice/exercise).

'erfahren' and 'geübt' both have to do with experience, but they work differently. 'erfahren' is a verb and means that you experience or go through something. 'geübt' is an adjective and describes that someone is confident in an activity through a lot of practice. The words can be confused because experience often comes through practice. Still, you do not say 'ich bin erfahren' with this verb, but for example 'ich habe viel erfahren'. For an ability, 'geübt' is more precise.
