'Gewächshaus' and 'Glashaus' can both mean a transparent building where plants grow. In this sense, they are very similar. However, 'Gewächshaus' is the more common and more precise word when talking about gardening, vegetables, or delicate plants. 'Glashaus' emphasizes the material glass more strongly and can also appear in the idiom 'Wer im Glashaus sitzt, sollte nicht mit Steinen werfen' (people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones). For that reason, 'Glashaus' can sometimes be misunderstood. For plants, 'Gewächshaus' is usually the clearest choice.
