Outdated, but productive
The meaning 'Geschäft' (shop/business) is outdated today when the word 'Handlung' (shop) stands on its own. However, it is still very much alive as an ending in words like 'Buchhandlung' (bookshop), 'Weinhandlung' (wine shop), or 'Tierhandlung' (pet shop).
