In the meaning 'sich hinlegen' (to lie down), 'hinhauen' (to flop down) is often used reflexively: the person is in the accusative with 'sich' (oneself), and the location can be specified with 'auf' (onto/on) or 'in' (into/in).
Nach der langen Wanderung haut sie sich ins Bett hin.
After the long hike, she flops down on the bed.
In the meaning 'funktionieren oder gelingen' (to work or succeed), 'hinhauen' (to work out) is often used with 'mit' (with) and something that is supposed to work. The short form 'Das haut hin' (That works out) is also very common.
