Verbs that end in '-ieren' are always regular and inseparable. The past participle is formed without 'ge-': 'hat informiert' (has informed).

Both verbs can mean giving someone information about a situation. Berichten focuses more on describing the event or how it unfolded, while informieren focuses more on ensuring that the other person has the necessary information. Use informieren for targeted notification and berichten for a connected account.
