In everyday life, however, they are often opposites: the heating makes it warm, while the air conditioner usually makes it cooler. They can be confused because both have to do with room temperature. If you need warmth in winter, you normally mean 'Heizung'. If you want cool or better air in summer, you usually mean 'Klimaanlage'.
