With 'miteinbeziehen', someone includes another person or a point in a plan, decision, or consideration. The words can be confused because in both cases several people are involved. A practical tip: someone who takes part themselves 'beteiligt sich'. Someone who is considered or brought in by others is 'miteinbezogen'.
