Since the word has several meanings, context helps distinguish them. Words like 'diskutieren' (to discuss) or 'Experten' (experts) point to a group of people, 'Solar' (solar) or 'montieren' (to install/mount) to a component, and 'Comic' (comic) or 'Bild' (image) to a frame in a drawing.

'das Feld' and 'das Panel' can both mean a defined area on a page or in an image. 'das Feld' is used especially for forms, tables, or databases when information is entered there. 'das Panel' fits better for comics: it is a single image that shows a scene. The words can be confused because a panel can also look like a field. In practice: for data or forms, you usually say 'Feld'; for comics, 'Panel' is usually better.
