'Rabatt' (discount) is a price reduction that you receive directly when making a purchase. It is not the same as the English word 'rebate', which is often a refund that you only receive later.
EXAMPLE
An der Kasse wurde der Rabatt automatisch abgezogen.
The discount was automatically deducted at the checkout.
Correct preposition
You get a 'Rabatt auf' (discount on) something, with the accusative. The amount of the reduction is given with 'von' (of), with the dative.
EXAMPLE
Es gibt 20 % Rabatt auf alle Winterjacken.
There is a 20% discount on all winter jackets.
Typical verbs
Common verbs used with 'Rabatt' (discount) are 'einen Rabatt geben' (to give a discount), 'einen Rabatt bekommen' (to get a discount), or, in formal language, 'einen Rabatt gewähren' (to grant a discount).

'das Angebot' and 'der Rabatt' are both often connected to a lower price. An 'Angebot' is a product or service that is currently being sold at a specific, often lower price. A 'Rabatt' is only the price reduction itself, for example 10 percent off. They can be confused because an offer often includes a discount. But not every discount is a separate special offer, and an 'Angebot' can also simply be a specific sales proposal.
