'der Druck' and 'der Stress' can both describe a strong strain or burden. 'Stress' refers more to the inner state: you are tense, tired, or overwhelmed. 'Druck' places more emphasis on expectations, lack of time, or other people pushing you to do something. So you can have stress because you are under pressure. The words can be confused because they often occur together in everyday life. When it is about the feeling, 'Stress' fits; when it is about external expectations or coercion, 'Druck' is more precise.
